Draw straight away, with no account and nothing to install. Sign in when a board is worth keeping.
Rectangles, ellipses and diamonds with text inside, post-its, text anywhere, and freehand in solid, dashed or dotted lines.
Draw an arrow from one shape to another and it snaps to both; move, resize or rotate either and the arrow follows.
Paste or drop a picture onto the board, then resize it, fade it or draw over it.
Signed in, boards save as you draw and open on any device; send anyone a read-only link they can look at, export or copy into their own account, and anything exports as a 2x PNG.

No. An account is only for keeping boards: signed in, what you draw is saved as you go and opens on any device.
The board is gone. It was never sent anywhere, so there is nothing to recover; on a computer the browser warns you first. Export PNG saves a picture of it before you go.
No, there is no live collaboration. You can send a read-only link, and whoever opens it can copy the board into their own account and carry on there.
No. A share link lets people view, pan, export and copy the board, nothing more. Turning the link off stops it working at once.
The drawing data plus the pictures it uses, each counted once however many times it appears on the board. Pictures are shrunk on the way in.
